On-grid, hybrid or off-grid: which system is right for you?
There are three main types of solar PV systems. The right choice depends on your consumption, the reliability of the grid at your site and how much independence you want.
Grid-tied self-consumption
The most common and most cost-effective option. Your panels power your appliances directly during the day; the grid takes over at night or when production is not enough. It suits households and businesses that use a lot of power in daytime: air conditioning, pumps, refrigeration, offices, workshops.
Hybrid system with battery
A hybrid inverter and a lithium battery store part of the energy produced so you can use it in the evening or during a power cut. It costs more, but brings comfort and security of supply.
Off-grid system
With no grid connection, the system must cover all your needs on its own, with batteries sized accordingly. It is the right answer for remote sites, isolated farms and solar water pumping.
What drives the price of a solar installation in Morocco?
The price of a solar installation is not just the price of a panel. A serious quote takes several factors into account:
- System size (in kWp), set by your consumption and the available space.
- Equipment quality: panels, inverter, cables and electrical protection.
- Mounting type: flat concrete roof, pitched roof, ground-mounted structure or carport.
- Storage: a battery increases the budget but adds independence.
- Site conditions: height, access, cable distance between the panels and the electrical panel.
Solar kit or professional installation?
Ready-to-install solar kits are tempting, but a poorly sized or poorly protected system produces less, ages faster and can create electrical hazards. A professional solar installation includes a review of your consumption, accurate sizing, proper protection devices and controlled commissioning.

How much does a solar panel installation cost in Morocco?

Do solar panels work in hot or cloudy weather?
Yes. Panels produce power whenever there is daylight, although output drops when it is overcast. Very high temperatures slightly reduce efficiency, which is why panel ventilation and equipment choice are part of the assessment.
Can I keep power during a blackout?
A simple grid-tied system switches off automatically during a power cut, for safety reasons. To keep your essential appliances running, you need a hybrid system with a battery. See batteries and inverters.
How much maintenance do solar panels need?
Very little: regular cleaning (dust, sand, salt near the coast) and periodic checks of connections and the inverter. We offer maintenance and cleaning contracts.
How long do the assessment and installation take?
Once we receive your request, we arrange a site visit. A home installation usually takes a few days; commercial and agricultural projects need specific planning, set out in the quote.
